The Upheaval on Nessus is an on-going conflict between the Guardians of the Vanguard lead by Osiris, Saint-14, and Ikora Rey and aided by Failsafe against the forces of Maya Sundaresh, a former Ishtar Collective scientist turned megalomaniac having came in possession of a paracausal Echo that gave her command over an entire Vex collective. Following the destruction of the Witness, Guardians began investigating the strange Vex terraforming Nessus in response to a paracausal Echo having impacted the planetoid as a byproduct released from the Traveler.
