- "Of the Kell of Kings, we know nothing. Wherever, whoever it is, it remains hidden, even when the so-called Kell of Kells comes to its borders."
- — Uldren Sov
Craask, Kell of Kings was the mysterious Kell to the Fallen House of Kings.
Biography[edit]
The Battle of the Twilight Gap was the result of Craask's machinations, influencing the House of Devils, the House of Winter, and the House of Wolves into an alliance to attack the City and reclaim the Great Machine.[1] However, the House of Wolves was unable to participate in the battle due to an attack from the Reef, and the Guardians were able to force the other three Houses from the City's walls.[2]
When Skolas began his plan to take over the Fallen Houses, he did not use force against the House of Kings, as he did with the House of Winter[3] and the House of Devils.[4] Instead, Skolas sent Yavek as an ambassador to meet with the House of Kings. Craask refused to meet with Yavek, instead sending two Barons, Paskin and Vekis, as ambassadors on its behalf.[5] Prince Uldren Sov, however, believed that the Barons were assassins sent by the Kell of Kings to eliminate a potential threat to his goal of taking over the rest of the Fallen Houses.[6][1]
Some time after the SIVA Crisis had concluded the missing Uldren allowed himself to be captured by the House of Kings in order to meet their Kell. Both the last surviving royalty of a ravaged people, they saw in each other kindred spirits. Craask knelt to Uldren and beseeched him to go out and spread word to the other Fallen Houses to unite for the sake of survival, as Craask's remaining pride could not tolerate the disgrace of giving the word himself.[7][8]
The Kings remained a discrete entity under Craask for some time afterwards. Though Uldren was given some authority within the House, he was still subordinate to Craask. Thus, when Uldren's ambitions became incompatible with Craask's, he summoned Fikrul, and together they gutted what remained of the House. Craask himself was docked of all four arms by Fikrul and reduced to a Dreg.[9][10][11] Word later circulated among the Fallen that Uldren and Fikrul had slain Craask outright.[12]
