Bargux, Son of Xivu Arath is an Ascendant Hive Knight and Prince of Xivu Arath. Considered to be one of the most powerful of the God of War’s progeny, he has been part of many campaigns, such as the War against the Harmony, the Fall of Torobatl and her many incursions in Sol. After Xivu Arath was banished from her Throne World by Eris Morn, Bargux remained to defend it from traitors in and out of the Throne World.

Biography[edit]

"A BLADE WAS IN YOUR GRASP SINCE YOU WERE SPAWNED. STRIFE IS YOUR EVERY BREATH. WITHIN AND WITHOUT, YOU WILL FIGHT IN MY NAME."
— Xivu Arath

Bargux was born between the fall of the Taishibethi and Harmony civilisations. He would be among Xivu Arath's forces in the assault on the Gift Mast, where he would assault many of the Harmony's worlds as his mother battled their bishops in the ascendant plane. He would also kill one of the Wish Dragons and use a piece of its invertebrate for his Tomb Carrier, which he later named the Bane of Harmony.

When the three siblings split ways, Bargux continued to serve his mother in her campaign of destruction. Following his campaign that successfully led to the extinction of the Skithcara, a species of spacefaring mystics that resembled crustaceans, Bargux would be promoted to a Prince for his sheer bloodlust and understanding of tactics. From there, he would take on a Wizard known as Zenreth, the Warper as his consort, and begin to take an interest in her studies of his mother's Cryptoliths and the creation of the Wrathborn.

Bargux would be among the Hive forces of Xivu Arath that invaded the Cabal Homeworld Torobatl and would be responsible for the destruction of many Cabal cities, including the Fortress City of Aqui'nisuss. He would also spawn many Cryptoliths across the planet, corrupting many desperate Cabal that hadn’t managed to evacuate into Wrathborn. Afterwards, he would follow his mother to Sol and join her various assaults, including hunting Hive Lightbearers and leading Wrathborn, Taken and Scorn against the Coalition.

While initially devout to Xivu Arath, Bargux would begin to question the way Hive like him followed the Sword Logic and where the line of what was classed as heresy was placed, especially after seeing the continued strengthening of Kelgorath, Risen from Bones. Despite this, he maintained his loyalty to Xivu Arath mostly out of fear of being branded a heretic and traitor. In Xivu's campaign against the new Hive God of Vengance, Bargux would coordinate various assaults into the Court of Savathûn until Xivu Arath was banished from her Throne World, where Bargux would vow revenge on the Guardians.

Inquisition of purpose[edit]

"Oh mighty Eater of Weakness, hear me! For ages untold, I studied the way of the Sword, devoting my existence to it. I strove to be your most powerful champion. Greater than your High Celebrant, the Eater of Leviathans and the Spellblade. And in this Witnessless world, this I achieved! ...But it gives me no satisfaction. In my pursuit to outsurvive, I lost my purpose..."
— Bargux speaking to Xivu Arath

In the time after the Witness' death and the unfulfillment of the Final Shape, Bargux found himself increasingly lost in purpose. Despite this, as one of her last remaining high champions, he would continue to lead his mother's forces against the Guardians and hunt down any of the Horde that would attempt to usurp control.

Personality and traits[edit]

From day one, Bargux was raised under the sword logic by Xivu Arath, becoming a devout warrior who believed that there was no such thing as an unbreakable foe. However, Bargux is far from a simple-minded brute as he shares his mother’s understanding of tactics, but to a slightly lesser degree. Additionally, he is a devout warrior for the Sword Logic and holds a binary understanding of Light and Darkness, believing that the Hive are only meant to wield Darkness against the Light and that any subversion is a heretical act punishable by death. However,

Despite being considered the most powerful of Xivu’s direct lineage, Bargux often feels neglected by her in favour of other champions like her High Celebrant and the Leviathan-Eater and is often eager to prove his worth. But, this can be used against him.
