Marauders are a class of Fallen assassins who appeared with the rise of the House of Dusk.
Overview[edit]
Marauders are four armed Fallen of the same stature as Vandals. They are identifiable by the hooded cloaks and robes they wear, but are almost always invisible thanks to their stealth tech. They are deployed in all sorts of operations, from assassinations to scavenging missions. While initially encountered within the ranks of the House of Dusk, Marauders have been employed by all groups of Fallen following their first appearence. Rare Marauders have risen to positions of power, leading their own operations and crews, for example Thaviks, the Depraved.
Gameplay[edit]
Marauders are the spiritual successor of Stealth Vandals, and fight in much the same way. They spend most of their battles invisible, are quick on their feet, and can even scuttle in the same way Vandals can in Destiny 2. They are commonly armed with Shrapnel Launchers, in which case they will try to maneuver so as to flank their targets before unleashing a hail of shrapnel, dealing serious damage at medium range. Up close, they will attempt to melee with their wrist-mounted blades, which can bring down Guardian shields rather quickly. They are also frequently encountered with Shock Blades, which they will use by running up to a target as fast as possible before assaulting them in a group. However, Marauders tend to hesitate to strike, as they usually wait for their target to be distracted, which allows the player more time to notice the glow of their helmets. Their invisibility can also be broken if they are stunned, and they don't have that much health, only taking a few more shots than a Dreg.
