Following the Fall of Torobatl, he was deployed in an escadrille to battle a force of Xivu Arath's Horde on a Frontier world of the Empire, where he would be the only survivor. After that, he would begin traveling the galaxy in his fighter, constantly taking jobs from anyone willing to pay for parts to maintain his ship. After running into the Clipse mercenary Vurn and hiring her as his bodyguard, the two would be found and hired by Lau'urc to become members of her legion.
During the Convergent Containment, Cranis and Vurn would take part in the Dune Raiders' assault on Sedna to steal the Echo in the possession of the Convergent Vex.
