"The Wire Rifle utilizes shock cores to charge thin wires of an exotic metal, converting them into Arc-infused molten shards with an extraordinary muzzle velocity."
— Grimoire Description[1]

Wire Rifles are Sniper Rifles used by the Fallen to flush out and suppress enemy forces.

Gameplay[edit]

The Wire Rifle fires a high-velocity Arc bolt that punches through Guardian shields at long range, so using cover is advised. The weapon must charge for a second before firing, causing it to emit a recognizable sound and blue flash, which an attentive player can use to predict the attack and dodge it. The weapon is found almost exclusively in the hands of Vandals or mounted on the chassis of Tracer Shanks, though it is also the preferred weapon of some large Captains, like the Technocrat's Assistants.

Some Heavy Shanks, like S.A.B.E.R.-2, can mount a Solar variant of this weapon.

Taken Vandals with Wire Rifles have their damage type changed to Solar, and can fire the weapon faster, though with lower precision.

The SIVA infused variant used by Splicer Vandals fires in three-round Solar bursts with an erratic trajectory, making it harder to track the shooter.
