The Athenaeum Worlds of the Cabal Empire are massive planetary repositories of knowledge and technology.[1] These vaults contained technology of terrifying potential, much of which belonged to species that the Cabal either assimilated into their empire or conquered. Such technology included "sentient anomalies", "thought-powered reality smashers", and "portable world-enders". However, after the loss of Torobatl and the vast majority of the Empire to Xivu Arath's Hive and Wrathborn forces, it is unknown whether the Cabal still control any Athenaeum Worlds. Emperor Calus's Loyalist caretakers, whom he personally stationed on each Athenaeum World, have been silent for a prolonged period of time.[2]
