Grimoire description[edit]

ARENA DESIGNATION: Vertigo
LOCATION: Caloris Basin, Mercury

When the Vanguard launched its first waves of exploratory ships to Mercury, it found that the Cabal fascination with the Vex isn't contained to the warfronts of Mars. The Guardians discovered a small fleet of Cabal dropships hanging in place alongside a collection of unique structures. Their propulsion systems were slaved in sequence to keep the ships there indefinitely. The fate of the Cabal is as mysterious as Vertigo itself— the Guardians detected no catastrophic malfunction, no disease, and no bodies aboard any of the fully-supplied ships.

As for the structure, upon recent inspection by Lord Shaxx himself, the Crucible Handler sent a recommendation to Commander Zavala and the Speaker: "The verticality will do wonders for new recruits. It's time to fight."

Strategies[edit]

Players must avoid falling to their deaths as there are open spaces one can inadvertently jump into. Small, with narrow, high tunnels, precision weapons are useful for long-range combat; Scout Rifles and Sniper Rifles are recommended. Long-range Supers such as Nightstalker or Gunslinger are excellent for this type of map. There are many blind spots, and tight turns, so short range weapons such as Shotguns are recommended.

There is a teleporter on one side connecting to an isolated platform perfect for sniping, but watch your back; if you hide at the very edges of the teleporter you won't get sent through. The platform overlooks both Alpha and Bravo spawns, particularly in Rift, and the Spark spawner is directly before the other teleporter. A well coordinated team can defend itself and take the enemy out easily.
