An Acolyte's Eye is a Taken construct summoned by Taken Acolytes. It acts as a long-range stationary turret, bombarding an enemy with a stream of Arc-damaging energy.
Overview
Acolyte's Eyes are fragile, requiring only little effort to destroy them, but their barrage is powerful enough to break an unwary Guardian's shield in seconds. They will remain in place even after the Taken Acolytes that summoned them are killed.
The Malificent Eye is a stronger variant summoned by Kagoor in the Court of Oryx. Destroying these grants a buff called "Ogre's Fury", which increases damage done to the Ogres summoned on the battlefield, including the Servile Ogre, which drops the Taken Wizard's shield when killed. Malificent Eyes require stronger attacks to fully destroy and appear in groups of five.
In Destiny 2, Acolyte's Eyes' fully automatic attack is replaced by bursts of three Arc projectiles. When the eyes are summoned they must be manually killed even if the acolyte who summoned them dies
