"A single word is etched inside the barrel: "Sylvie-1"."
— Weapon description

Succession is a Legendary KineticS.png Sniper Rifle that can be acquired as random loot from the second encounter in the Deep Stone Crypt Raid.[1] As of Season of the Seraph, it can also be craftable once five Deepsight versions of the weapon have been obtained and unlocked its pattern.

During the Into the Light update, a BRAVE Arsenal version of the weapon was introduced with a new appearance, different perks, and a new origin trait. It is available as loot from the Onslaught activity and can be attuned at the Hall of Champions to drastically increase its drop rate. A more unique version of this weapon is also available on rare drops with double perks and its own unique weapon ornament.

"And my vanquisher will read that book, seeking the weapon, and they will come to understand me, where I have been and where I was going."
The following is a verbatim transcription of an official document for archival reasons. As the original content is transcribed word-for-word, any possible discrepancies and/or errors are included.

Four-year-old Eld leaned into Perilla-28's side, a half-eaten cracker forgotten and crumbling in his small hands.

"Did you know I was in the City for Six Fronts? I was already here, though I wouldn't meet your great-great-grandma for a long time yet."

"There wasn't a City then," Eld said confidently. "It was all mud."

Perilla-28 laughed. "No, it was a true city by the time I got here. When the walls were finished, we threw the biggest party I'd ever seen. We thought we were finally safe…"

She paused, a hand on Eld's fine hair, lost in her memories. Eld tugged at her sleeve. "And then what?"

"And then the Guardians protected us. Better than any wall could."

The Traveler's departure had left a hole in the City sky. Perilla gazed up at it.

"That's what they do. That's what they always do."

Eld had stopped listening. He was shaking the cracker crumbs off his hands onto Perilla's dress. "Auntie," he said very seriously, "I need some juice."
