- "This unusual coin is warm to the touch and vibrates gently in your hand."
- — In-game description
Strange Coins are used to purchase powerful loot from Xûr in Destiny.[1] They later return in Destiny 2's 30th Anniversary Pack, where they are used to purchase special bounties and other rewards from Starhorse. Beginning in The Final Shape, Strange Coins were once again used to purchase wares from Xûr, and spending Strange Coins increases reputation with Xûr, and allow them to obtain a buff called Strange Favor that can stack up to 3 times and last for 11 days unless another Strange Favor buff is picked up.
