Sila was one of the passengers aboard the Yang Liwei who were transformed into the first Awoken during the Collapse. Shortly after the Awoken came into consciousness within the Distributary, they gathered for a conclave to decide their future. Sila was amongst those who attended a secret gathering led by Mara Sov, who told those gathered that she believed they had fled from some grave danger and must return to their regular reality once they had gathered enough strength. Sila eventually gave birth to a daughter she named Esila, who became a famous historian of the Awoken.[1]
