Long Unquiet Night

The Long Unquiet Night was one of the first nights the Awoken spent in the Reef after leaving the Distributary. The Awoken huddled within ice caves and habitat cylinders of a terraformed comet from the Oort-cloud,[1] and were plagued by visions. Other ailments included their tendons vibrating, jaws popping, and witnessing flashes of lights like the "impact of cosmic rays". Images and portraits became indistinguishable with reality and statues were shrouded so they didn't appear as corpses. Many Awoken, including Sjur Eido, had visions of Mara Sov, and sent her notes and "whispers" telling her about their visions.[2]
