Now progressing further into the town, players will start to notice something new as they carve through Scorn forces, as something bearing the silhouette of a Hive warrior will begin to stalk them. Finally reaching the walled outskirts of the town, bedecked with impaled skeletons from a bygone age, the team will now be confronted by another new unique enemy, a Wereknight. A former Guardian, these Light-charged warriors will attack the Fireteam with profound aggression and maneuverability, employing abilities signature of their former selves, with Wereknight Titans utilizing Solar based attacks such as Acolytes Grenades and even slinging a miniature Hive Axe at them, Wereknight Hunters swiftly teleporting across the arena with crackling Arc and impaling an area with a charged spear of lightning and Wereknight Warlocks throwing gravity wells around the arena in an effort to weaken and trap their enemies and spawning Void souls around them so as to punish their attackers. Regardless of the Wereknight the Guardians face, the team must skillfully dispose of the twisted warrior and approach their Ghost. Direction from Glint, however, will tell the team to dispel of the Hive corruption seeped into the former Guardian's Ghost with their light, forcing the team to hold and interact with the infected Ghost in order to break their colleague's curse; if not addressed, the Wereknight will return to threaten the team. Once finally dealt with the team can then progress forward. Temporarily entering the town's walls, the team will now encounter three new variants of Headless Ones: an unchanged one, save for their new use of a Hive Axe, a smaller one bearing the silhouette of a Thrall and another one, bearing the silhouette of Swordbearers and bearing a green pumpkin head instead. The latter two variants can apply stacks of Hivecanthropy to Guardians through mauling and newly specialized Grenades and Stasis Boomer-like Boomers which create infectious clouds of Hive energy respectively. While all attacks deal standard damage, of course, if a total of 100 is reached, the player's Guardian will keel over, start sprouting Hive growths and become a Wereknight, the variant fitting their former form. The player will be forced to watch as their possessed body attacks their former allies until they are slain and their Ghosts are purified, in which the player's Guardian will be returned to their original form. The team continues through the wall, disposing of the Headless One and Scorn infestation within and finally reach the stormswept outside.

The Storm
The Storm
Following the dark ether trails further into the Transylvanian Wildlands, the team now exits through a wall in the tunnel, only to witness a pair of Fallen instantly vaporized by a bolt of occult lightning. The should notice now they have access to their vehicles and should now realize that they must swiftly navigate the broken highways, thick forests and scattered rural homes all the while avoiding being struck down by lethal bolts of jade green lightning. As long as anyone is standing out in the open, they will see a countdown beneath their health bar, called Gaze of the Necromancer, counting down from 30 seconds. Players should be zooming through the area as fast as possible as, if the countdown reaches 0, the Guardian will be struck by a bolt of the Lightning and killed instantly. To alleviate the hazard, there are scattered alcoves for as many as 6 Guardians to hide under to reset the countdown back to 30 and allow them to begin their run again. Sometimes, these Guardians may also find vast areas for them to hide from the storm, but will find fierce Scorn, Headless One and Wereknight opposition, and should deal with their assailants as swift and carefully as possible, as the Hivecanthropic Headless Ones should also be joining them as well.
Swiftly, but carefully, the team should be following the ether trails first across the broken bridges of the town's highway, seeking out cover from overturned cars, broken buses and cliff overhangs, as well as an occupied tunnel which provides a break from avoiding the storm and allowing the team to spend that time enduring an onslaught. Following that, the team must now sweep through the thick forests–as the bridge further is completely broken and attempting to navigate it leads to death–avoiding concealed snipers and finding cover in fallen trees, rock outcroppings, crashed skiffs and, at last, a vast horse barn filled with enemies to, once again, provide a break from the anxiety of avoiding the storm. Once the occupants have been vanquished, the team is allowed to progress forward safely, navigating the vast fields of the farm, seeking cover underneath vast trees, underneath farming equipment, in a small home and, finally, navigating back to the highway and finding one last combat encounter in an old hangar once used by the old Warlord and his cronies. Finally breaking through the assault, the team enters one last tunnel, navigates it without issue and comes across a blockage at the end of the tunnel. The fireteam can find a small break in the wreckage and slowly move through the maintenance byways through the mountains. Dealing with the Screeb and Wereknight occupants within, the team can finally come to a rusted door in which, opening it, soon find themselves looking upon Ozymandias' old manse in the distance, lightning dramatically lighting it as the team safely moves to a gatehouse before a vast garden.
