Shuc is a Psion Scribe who defected to the Dune Raiders. He acts as the author of the Transfuga Regina, which documents the Rise of the Dune Raiders and a few of its notable faces.

Biography

Shuc was born aboard the Leviathan of Emperor Calus and his Loyalists at some point following the Midnight Coup. As one of the first to be born aboard the ship, he was given the title of Exileborn. As he grew, Shuc was inspired to become a scribe from the stories of Calus and his exploits told by his fellow Loyalists.

However, that changed when the Leviathan came in contact with the Black Edge. Unlike the majority of the Loyalists, Shuc doubted what the Emperor saw. However, after witnessing what became of those who shared his thinking like his mentor Tlazat, Shuc would flee to the depths of the Leviathan to escape capture and execution. During this, he would steal whatever he could to survive by using the various air ducts of the Leviathan while he waited for an opportunity to escape.

A year after the Leviathan had arrived in the Sol System, while Calus was preoccupied with the Guardians' excursions into the Menagerie and dealing with Gahlran, the Sorrow-Bearer, Shuc took the opportunity to steal a Harvester and escape. But, he would be captured by Dune Raiders and brought before Lau'urc. Though she was initially hesitant to allow a Loyalist deserter into her ranks, especially upon first hearing the Scribe's views of the Emperor, Lau'urc would eventually allow the Psion into her ranks. In time, Lau'urc would show Shuc more respect, especially after learning of Calus' action on the Glykon.
