The EVOLUTION THEORY~ is an Exotic Trace Rifle unlocked through the Fire with Fire quest. This weapon utilizes energized SIVA Nanobots that can create a Swarm with the capability of both weakening enemy units to gunfire, as well as heal and empower allies.

Acquisition

The Questline for this Exotic weapon is based on a few puzzles, minor side-tangents, side-quests and boss kills, but shouldn't take too long once the person deciphers the cryptic quest steps. The steps come as follows:

• Week 1
  • Step 1: Find the weapon frame within the Pit of Failures during the Shadowfall mission.
  • Step 2: Finish the mission and defeat Experiment 7-B.
  • Step 3: Take the weapon frame and the SIVA core to Aliskis
  • Step 4: Defeat the Vector Swarm in the aptly named quest.
  • Step 5: Find a Fallen terminal and unscramble the enigma.
  • Step 6: Complete 3 Kill Patrols and an Extermination Patrol in the ECZ.
• Week 2
  • Step 1: Find Fallen orders from random encounters with the Jackal Splicers.
  • Step 2: Unscramble the orders by completing any random objective it asks.
  • Step 3: Hunt down 3 of the Jackal Splicer's revered Splicer Priests.
    • Step 3a: Draw out Tygraks, Splicer Priest by fighting in the most intense scenarios.
    • Step 3b: Lure out Ikilas, Splicer Priest by defacing their sacrosanct grounds.
    • Step 3c: Hunt down Yirivis, Splicer Priestess within the Jackal Stronghold.
  • Step 4: Defeat the Splicer Priest's anointed champion, Psarkus Mahl, the Regicidal and his pet, Tagros-4, Seething Bastion.
  • Step 5: Bring the champion's weapon core to Aliskis and claim the Theistic Servant.
• Week 3
  • Step 1: Find a greater power source for the obsolete weapon.
    • Follow up: Kill Zilviks, High Priest.
  • Step 2: Bring the charged weapon to Aliskis for further analysis.
  • Step 3: Defeat 25 challenging enemies and get 10 multi-kills with the Theistic Servant.
  • Step 4: Defeat 10 Guardians with precision kills with this weapon and win a round of Gambit Prime.
  • Step 5: Track down the repaired Garvaks-1, Rebuilt Legend and complete the Nightfall rendition of the Cell of Solace Strike.
  • Step 6: Delve deep into the Splicer's Stronghold and gather the SIVA Nanites required to evolve the weapon into the EVOLUTION THEORY~.
• Catalyst Steps
  • Step 1: Decipher a strange signal received from the weapon itself while patrolling the ECZ.
  • Step 2: Track the source to a familiar place.
  • Step 3: Unscramble the source by strengthening the signal and destroying hidden radio jammers.
  • Step 4: Uncover the blasphemous creation that is Semkis-2, Voracious Idol and destroy this foul disgrace.
  • Step 5: The core retrieved from the dismantled abomination seems to catalyze the SIVA Engine of the EVOLUTION THEORY~. Defeat Ultra enemies and Guardians with both firing modes of this weapon to charge it.

Intrinsic Perk

Orthogenesis - Directed fire from this weapon creates a SIVA Swarm. The SIVA Swarm is capable of healing and increasing ally damage. The SIVA Swarm also negates enemy resilience while slowly chipping away their health.
