European Aerial Zone is a limited-time activity and location introduced during Solstice.

It first appeared in the Season of Opulence and later became a reoccurring feature for the Season of Arrivals, Season of the Splicer, Season of the Haunted, Season of the Deep, and Episode: Echoes .

Overview
Overview
Located off the coastal regions of the Winding Cove, the European Aerial Zone is a floating island where areas of the European Dead Zone have been lifted into the air. Whilst the origins of its creation is unknown, it is believed that Ikora Rey and a group of Warlocks created the region as an unusual surprise to commemorate the Solstice of Heroes holiday. In "The Holiday Begins" quest, Eva Levante first provided coordinates of the location so that Guardians can meditate and perform combat drills. The European Aerial Zone can be accessed either through the Tower destination directory or by interacting with the small blue map of the EAZ near the Solstice statue. Eventually, it became the site where the Bonfire Bash activity occurs, where they must defeat Ignition Carriers to obtain an Igniter to stoke a bonfire at the center.
Expand-section

It has been formed from an idea by Ikora and Eva Levante by using powers of Tower Warlocks to lift areas of the European Dead Zone into the sky. Guardians receive coordinates to participate in combat there and meditation.

List of appearances
Each daily reset switches the activity between Arc Day, Solar Day, or Void Day. Enemies are more vulnerable to the element of the day, similar to how elemental singes function in Strikes. The EAZ is a very special area in the game, considering its unique emphasis on aerial movement, a departure from traditional Bungie encounter design philosophies. The primary objective of the EAZ is to kill as many minibosses scattered around the arena as possible, with each miniboss killed granting another chest at the end of the activity timer, up to 21 chests at a time. Each chest a player opens grants all players either 1-2 chest key fragments or a Solstice of Heroes package (contains blue gear, Enhancement Cores, glimmer, Umbral Engrams, or randomly rolled magnificent armor if a player has completed the associated quest prior to opening the package).
