Dread Bearers are a unique group of powerful Nightmare enemies that appear during the Nightmare Containment Public Event, consisting of Ultra Scorn Raiders, Chieftains and Abominations, as well as Major Cabal Incendiors and Scorn Raiders.[1]
Gameplay[edit]
Dread Bearers appear during the first two tiers of Nightmare Containment.
The Ultra Scorn ones are the main targets of the first and third phases, where they will appear in pairs or quartets and slowly move towards the Nightmare Harvester. They fight much like normal bosses, bombarding approaching Guardians with their ranged attacks and smashing the ground when they get close. They are highly resilient, so it is recommended to kill the Minor Nightmare Chieftains and Nightmare Raiders that spawn alongside them to acquire their Unstable Essence. Killing them and dropping their Cores of Dread into the Harvester fills it with large amounts of Shards of Dread, allowing the phase to progress much quicker and materializing a Scythe Relic that can be used to more easily dispatch the remaining Bearers and other enemies.
Dread Bearer Incendiors are rarer, appearing during phase four of the first two tiers of Containment if there are no Scythes available. Killing them gives out another Core, which can be used to make a Scythe and more easily kill the Vessels of Nightmares.
Major Raiders appear in the third tier of the event when the Nightmare of Navôta, Eir-Spawn is the final boss. Two appear when the Nightmare becomes phantasmal, and must be killed to make Navôta damageable again. Their cores can also be deposited to make new Scythes. If the cores aren't deposited fast enough, more Minor Dread Bearer Raiders will start appearing.
