"And my vanquisher will read that book, seeking the weapon, and they will come to understand me, where I have been and where I was going."

Step 1[edit]

"Hang on a moment," Micah says. "Oh darling, that's a huge data swap—"

She takes a moment to sort through the information she's receiving from Differential Calculus, the healed Ghost. The data looks promsingly revelatory on a first analysis: the Traveler is hurt by what the Witness has done to it, and all of the Ghosts have been trying to help it, in their way—seeking out dangerous places to get closer to the Traveler.

The instinct is sound. Revitalizing the connection between Ghost and Traveler helps both, although the scale of the Traveler is much greater than any single Ghost. There's a long road ahead: if the Traveler even CAN be healed completely.

But there is a duty, held by Micah-10 and the Ghosts she shepherds, to do everything in their power to help. And they'd welcome their continuing assistance. "Keep up the good work," Micah-10 says. She has a bigger picture mission in mind: tackling the Witness's influence directly while she works to track other missing Ghosts.

Though healing the injured Ghost was inarguably vital, there's still work to do out in the rest of the Pale Heart—work best done with a fireteam. Gather allies and set out to uproot the Witness's forces once more.

Step 2[edit]

You've done significant work to excise the Witness's influence from the Pale Heart. Return to the Arbor of Light to see your work reflected and talk with Micah-10.

  • Return to the Arbor of Light.
    • Arbor visited

"Good work as usual, Guardian," Micah says when you return. "I can already tell you've done as much as you can. At this point, it looks like we'll need to deal with the main act—the Witness—before we can make anymore difference. Fixing holes only works for so long when the Witness is making new ones by the moment, you know."

Her tone is somberly hopeful—much relies on the capability to defeat the Witness and drive it from the Traveler, but if that can be accomplished then the future will be bright.
