The Nightmare of Vereziia, Reverent of the Witness is a Nightmare of a powerful Tormentor assigned to a Shadow Legion prison camp during their Invasion of Earth responsible for the death of Amanda Holliday known as Vereziia, Reverent of the Witness. It is encountered in the Congressional Offensive activity serving Nezarec to keep both forces of the Created Congression and a Guardian fireteam from accessing the Witness' records on Tivon.

Gameplay

The Nightmare of Vereziia is one of three Nightmares that can randomly appear as the final boss in the Congressional Offensive. The Nightmare will spawn after the Guardian activates their Resonant Beacon. It will function like other Tormentors, swinging its Scythe to attack Guardians, unleashing barages of Void projectiles and leaping into the air and crashing down to suppress any caught by it while summoning various Nightmare Shadow Legion to support it. After both weak points on its shoulders have been destroyed, the Nightmare Tormentor will shift into its second phase and become immune to damage while having benefits like increased speed and its energy-draining Dark Harvest attack.
