The Swarm are one of the units that make up the troops of the Dread. They are members of an unknown species conquered by the Witness in the past and reshaped into feral beasts to serve it and its forces.
Gameplay[edit]
The Swarm are spindly creatures that resemble Hive Thrall, but with thin arms and legs with two knees, a pair of smaller arms ducked close to its chest, clawed hands and feet, and jagged elbows. They have flat heads that look as if the head (save for the lower half) had been cut off, showing a similar glassy material seen with statues in Pyramids.
As the name suggests, the Swarm's main method of attack is to attack in a group to overwhelm Guardians with their claws and teeth, often charging at them on all fours. However, the main threat with the Swarm is their duplication. If killed with any weaponry, a Swarm can split off a copy of itself, with a maximum of ten on the battlefield per initial Swarm. Only abilities like grenades, melee and supers can kill a Swarm without creating another one.
