Nice. I'll see what I can do with it. But I got about a total of fifty "Grimoire cards" to work on for my stuff, as well as writing a scene or two for a co-written story I'm doing, so that'll take some of my time. But I'll see what I can do.

Sure thing. I always do better if there's something already there for me to improve upon.

I wouldn't know.

Hmmm... interesting.

What I meant by "defining their reality" I meant he was saying what they were *before* he took them and "re-write" their reality to suit his whims.

Ooooh, that'll be good for when I write the Descendant Hydra! Thanks!

Well, the Taken langauge would only apply if they're under the control of another foreign power that is antithetical to their being.

In the Taken cards Oryx defines their reality in the first paragraph, in groups of three sentences each. Then he proclaims they're Taken. For the rest of the card he asks them what they fear, tells them what they are good at and how they fail even at that next to superior foes -- i.e. the undead servants of the Traveller, and the "dead queen of the darksworn, lightvassals". Then he promises he will help them, by giving them their special abilities we see in game. You can puzzle out what kind of ability from the language used or what they lacked to gain it.

Then he tells them to, literally, be strong, and "take your new shape" of their own "Free" will. That is, they think they are free, but they are not and are merely extensions of his own.

E, that's the format for the Taken Grimoire card. Why not you try and copy the Vex cards? Or imitate them? Like our their enemies perceive them as.

Sure thing.

Awesome. And you're welcome. I'd be glad to lend assistance.

Roger that. I'll go fix it.

I made those up. Since the Descendants are called Blighted (i.e. the giant Taken Minotaur you fight on Mars during a Public event, and during that specific alternative ending in Paradox on Venus), I figured I'd ought to name the Precursors something and Contagion sounded right. And since everyone on DestinyLore in reddit believe that, for the Vex, their future is out past and our future is their past, meaning they're moving backward in time, I figured I'd describe it as such in their Grimoire.

Made two Harpy models for them. The Gorgons are actually a part of the Descendants. Eventually I'll make the Cyclops for both sets. Trick is finding words that are synonymous with "ending" or suchlike without copying what I've written.

Is it finished? I didn't notice. If it is finished I'll mark it as complete.

Exactly. :)

Your meaning is somewhat distorted, but I get what you're saying. They would rather entertain and be content with their bubble than accept criticism. And if someone comes along to smack them down, with no regard to constructively criticize, they are too thin-skinned to take it - so they see all negatives as harmful to them.

I'm thinking of posting to AO3 (Archive Of Our Own) one day. Wordpress, I haven't given much thought to.

Dude.

You don't know Warhammer 40K? It is one of the most successful science fiction (and for Warhammer, fantasy) tabletop RPGs out there. Warhammer 40K is more successful because HERESY! and space and Chaos. Word of warning -- there is nothing and no one good in Warhammer 40K, and those that are space communists. Beware of visiting certain sites, but the best site to go to for info relating to WH40K is the Lexicanum.

It's one of my favorite franchises despite me being a hard science fiction fan because nothing makes sense. Destiny wouldn't last a chance in there but some of its races could survive. The Hive with their sword-logic and Taken would fit comfortably right in there, the Cabal could be on par with the Imperium. The Fallen would most likely be allied with the Tau, the space communists, but would otherwise get annihilated. The Vex... I don't know. They'd probably be as annoying as the Orks.

The Traveler would get hunted by the Imperium for promoting heresy and subverting of citizens against the God-Emperor of Mankind, and the Guardians would have one of three things happen to them: 1) get corrupted by Chaos, which is The Darkness but Up To Eleven with four very active and very defined demonic deities; 2) get drafted into the Imperium's sanctioned Psykers to either serve as psychic food to keep the Emperor alive and prevent him from dying and destroying all of humanity in a Warp storm or else guide humanity's warships through the Warp... which is where Chaos resides in; and 3) die.

Ghosts would either get treated as heretical machines or the literal incarnation of machine spirits, depending whether or not Guardians are seen the same as psykers. They probably could go toe-to-toe with a Space Marine, but with the Darkness literally everywhere -- "in the grim darkness of the future there is only war" -- they won't be using their Supers a lot.

The Traveler will most assuredly be hunted by the Imperium. Unless the Eldar (Tolkien imports with a dash of D&D) take an interest in it and it helps their dying civilization to survive with gratitude.

Seriously, you'll need to read up on this. :D

As soon as I finish writing Grimoire cards for them all. After the Cabal I'll be tackling those Taken without Grimoire cards.

Huh. I hadn't thought about SIVA at all when I wrote that. Still, nothing is original.

How about the Sivians damaged their efforts enough that they had to go dormant in order to recover. Call it a pyrrhic war or something. Use the Necrons of Warhammer 40K as a guide.

How about a virus that is so viral that it infects everything organic? Could be a superweapon left over from their wars with other races, and one of those races developed it as a weapon but were killed off. So this superweapon continues to pursue them because their destruction is its final command. A computer-like biological disease.

Eh... I don't know. I began with the Vex and it went from there. Basically I took their former natures and twisted them. Anything that had a task I used as a base for their Taking. Some are going to be left alone. Only thing I need to do now is the Cabal.

Those that have been Taken already by Oryx but do not have Grimoire cards I'll do also. These will be indicated by italics to show they're in the game.

Do they want our solar system because it is a replacement for their world? If so, then why not use the technology they used to destroy others and manipulate a system for themselves? A good motive is that they either want our sun for energy and are utilizing our planets to begin construction of a Dyson swarm in order to collect that energy, or they are eliminating all traces of the Sivian Empire and percieve us as descendants of that empire.

Basically, all a Tier II civilization (tier II on the Kardashev scale) would need to have as a motive for attacking others is they're expanding or undertaking a massive project, and so gobbling up all nearby or useless stars for that energy. At that power they wouldn't be afraid of attack themselves unless a higher civilization such as another Tier II or even a Tier III threatens them.

A war between Kardashev scale civilizations would be like a war of the gods.
