The Duke MK.44 (also known as the Hand Cannon) [1] is a standard-issue revolver[2] manufactured by the City's Sector 08 Armory.[3] The weapon is most commonly associated with newer Guardians who equip a sidearm in their primary loadout[2]
While the Duke has a low rate of fire and a high recoil, it produces a high amount of damage with each round and is not effected by reticule bloom.[4] It has a built in "quick draw holo sight", as well as a "hair trigger".[5]
Trivia
- The name is likely a reference to the .44 Magnum Mega Class from Marathon, an earlier Bungie game.
- The magazine size is a reference to Bungie's favorite number, seven.
