Hi there and welcome to Destinypdia, the definitive source for Destiny information that anyone can edit! While you are here, why not meet the team in charge of maintaining the wiki?

User Tasks

Since Destinypedia is dedicated to being the best and most comprehensive encyclopedia for Destiny on the web, we task special users with certain maintenance jobs to ensure Destinypedia's integrity and most importantly, the community.

Developers

Developers of the wiki are the people who own the Destinypedia.com domain and hosting. These users have access to certain database functions in order to manage and uphold the site. Destinypedia's current Developer is Porplemontage. Should you need to contact the developer, you can do so on his talk page or social board.

Bureaucrats

Bureaucrats are simply regular administrators that are granted a few extra tools, such as assigning or revoking user rights and renaming user accounts. Typically, bureaucrats are usually senior admins, but this is not always the case. Current Bureaucrats include users Porplemontage, Spartacus and Xamikaze330. Should you need to contact a Bureaucrat, you can do so on their talk pages or social boards and one of our friendly staff will be happy to assist you.

Administrators

Destinypedia's Administrators are trusted users that have access a few additional functions. These functions are solely for housekeeping and for ensuring that Destinypedia is nice and tidy. Though the community does look to administrators to perform the essential chores that require the extra access they are entrusted with, administrators are the same as other users, and are expected to be well-tempered in all respects. Current Administrators include users Arcmind, Dante the Ghost, MorningWalker and Primus Draug'oth. If you require assistance, or need to contact an administrator, you can do so by leaving a message on their talk page or social board.

About me
I am Dante the Ghost. I have been a member here since May 8, 2016, and I consider myself the general editor of the place; if something needs be done, or a user has left edits that need cleanup or expansion, I'll get right on it. If you need to chat, hit me up on my talk page, message board, or email and I'll try to answer back.

About me
Hello, I'm Primus Draug'oth. I've been a member since March 13, 2016, and...actually, I'm not sure as to what I should describe myself as. Lemme just say that I'm the "gameplay mechanics" guy, especially when it comes to our enemies. I take careful note of their weapon(s) and abilities to make sure that Guardians know how to defeat them. Those are the pages I care most about. But if notice something going wrong anywhere on this wiki, then I'll see what I can do, even if someone has done it before me. Anyway, I'm just snacking on some burritos as I sit here. Feel free to talk to me at anytime. After all, I'm almost always online.
Favorite thing about Destiny
There are many things that Bungie has done to this game that quite frankly anger me, but if there's one reason I have such a strange affinity to this game, it's the gunplay. It's a well-polished combat system where the weapons are actually functional, and they feel so satisfying to use. The combat in general is just amazing. I would like to try something different when Destiny 2 comes out, though.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are Administrators?

Different users have access to different functions of the site. While anyone can do most things on the site, including reading and editing, administrators are trusted users that have access a few additional functions.

  • Deleting and undeleting pages, uploaded images and page histories.
  • Protecting a page so it can not be edited or moved by anonymous users (autoconfirmed protection) or non-admins (full/sysop protection).
  • Blocking IP addresses or user names from editing; and quick reversion ("rollback") of undesirable edits.
  • Editing the interface by changing system messages and skins (editing MediaWiki files).
  • Viewing a user's IP addresses and other information.
  • Mark page revisions or users' edits as "patrolled".

These functions are solely for housekeeping for keeping Destinypedia nice and tidy. The community does look to administrators to perform the essential chores that require the extra access administrators are entrusted with. However, otherwise, administrators are the same as other users, and are expected to be well-tempered in all respects.

What can Administrators not do?

Administrators should not use their administrator powers to settle editing disputes; for example, to lock a page on a version they prefer in an editing dispute that isn't vandalism. Administrator powers should be used to help keep the wiki clear of vandalism, spam, and users who make malicious edits, but not for simple disagreements between users acting in good faith. Administrators should not be considered "in charge". The ideal admin is a regular user who is trusted to have a few extra buttons and to use them for the benefit of Destinypedia.

Can I become an Administrator?

Main article: Destinypedia:Requests for Adminship

Currently, administrators are selected on an as-needed basis only. As Destinypedia grows, more administrators will be needed to assist in its operation. Once Destinypedia reaches significant size and activity, new administrators will then be selected via a Request for Adminship.

What are Bureaucrats?

Main article: Destinypedia:Bureaucrats

A bureaucrat is simply an administrator that is granted a few extra tools, such as assigning or revoking user rights and renaming user accounts. Typically, bureaucrats are the most senior admins, but this is not always the case.
