Splinters are Solar crossbow-like weapons used by Hive Knights and high ranking Acolytes.
Overview[edit]
The Splinter is a crossbow made of chitin, like most other Hive weapons. It is a previously unseen foray into the realm of Solar energy whose flames can be seen crackling within the weapon. It was first seen among Savathûn's Brood, and was later encountered among all other Broods of the system.
Splinters fire a fan of Solar arrows that cover a large area. Each bolt deals significant damage on its own, but if multiple bolts hit the same target, it quickly spells their doom. When multiple foes wielding this weapon fire together, especially if they are high ranked due to their faster rates of fire, it can be disorienting to understand where to dodge. Guardians are recommended to engage this weapon from long ranges.
