The Siege on Mars was a two-phased conflict between the Last City, and their new allies, the Fallen House of Lions against the Cabal Star Blazers over their reclamation of Mars. It began after the Taken War and the SIVA Crisis, when the disorganized Cabal were reeling from the effects of Oryx and the Taken, reorganizing following the reemergence of Val Jo'arrc, the Champion of the Blind Legion, and redeclared their war against the City over the planet. The Siege would drag both the Vanguard and the secret Fallen House, the House of Lions into the conflict, forcing them to make a truce and fight back against the Cabal together.
