The Accursed Swordbearer is a unique variant of the Swordbearer that appears only in the Pit of Heresy alongside Zulmak, Instrument of Torment. They are special lieutenants of the Hive champion who are also vital in being able to vanquish the Instrument of Torment.

Gameplay[edit]

Accursed Swordbearers will spawn periodically throughout the Necropolis and Cradle of Damnation encounters at the command of Zulmak, Instrument of Torment, with a sole purpose of overwhelming the Young Wolf. The player must defeat these Swordbearers to use the Cleavers they drop in order to destroy the various entities around the arenas: the Might of the Broken Blade, the Omen of the Broken Blade, and the Oracle of the Broken Blade. The player must melee, snipe, or reflect according to each of the mini-bosses respectively.

Trivia[edit]

  • The Accursed Swordbearer bears a striking resemblance to Sardok, Eye of Oryx.
  • Ever since Beyond Light had released, many uniquely titled enemies were renamed to their basic naming, such as the Knight Echoes and the Jamming Servitors being renamed to "Ravenous Taken Knight" and just Servitor, The Accursed Swordbearers were no exception and were renamed. However they were just renamed to "Heretical Knight"
    • There are enemies within the Dungeon whom are also titled: "Heretical Knights", which have been in the game since the Dungeon came out, and are very different from the Accursed Swordbearers in both appearance and gameplay.
    • There are also a few Accursed Swordbearers that still retain their naming in some parts of the Dungeon. This may be a developer oversight.
