Transcript

(Mission Start)

  • Queen Mara Sov: Guardian. I did not expect you to answer our call so soon.
  • Eris Morn: It's the least we can do for the Queen of the Reef. Irregardless, the actions of Xivu Arath's brood has not gone unnoticed by our scouts.
  • Queen Mara Sov: Then we are on the same page then, more or less. Xivu Arath have dispatched her forces into the heart of the Dreadnaught to secure some of Oryx's most cruel and vile of prisoners.
  • Eris Morn: Then we have no time to waste. Guardian, enter the depths of the ship and deny them Oryx's spawn.

The Guardian fireteam enters The Founts, encountering Xivu Arath's Horde within blocking the way. The fireteam enters the main arena and finds the door progressing further into the Asylum closed.

  • Eris Morn: The way before us lies blocked. Sealed, by the Asylum's Wardens.
  • Queen Mara Sov: They must know you are after them. Dispatch the guards and progress into the Asylum.

The Guardians eliminate the assaulting Hive forces and eliminate one Asylum Warden at a time until all three are dispatched. The way is opened and the team slays the Ogre and Acolyte squad on the other side. The fireteam enters the Asylum and finds the way sealed once more.

  • Queen Mara Sov: The Horde has sealed the way forward by means of a powerful incantation, it seems.
  • Eris Morn: A simple, yet effective spell. Decipher and channel the runes on those towers, and the spell will unravel.

The first rune tower is dealt with

  • Eris Morn: The ward is weakening. Break the other, and it shall cascade.

The last tower is deciphered and the Hive defenders are eliminated. The door opens up and the team enters the connecting room. The fireteam enters.

  • Queen Mara Sov: Something's not right here... Xivu Arath isn't one to ignore setting up more defenses. Wait... incoming Taken! Get ready!

As Mara Sov issues the warning, Blights spawn around the room and Taken forces ambush the team and attempt to eliminate the Guardians. The doors behind close, trapping the team with their assailants. Whittling away at the Taken and defeating Khalgor, the fireteam overturns the ambush and progress further into the Asylum.

Note: On Nightfall difficulties, a Tormentor will show up and spawn some light Taken forces to assault the team.

  • Eris Morn: Darkness coalesces here. I sense a dark and sinister soul changing. Altering. Finding new purpose. Accepting a new pact. A new tithe. Xivu Arath has found another champion to join her fold.
  • Queen Mara Sov: Then the next best thing we can do is eliminate whoever she just recruited. Guardian, find them and put them down.

The fireteam enters the Hanging Crypts and find the way blocked by a horde of Shriekers, called the Ward of Xivu Arath. After destroying all the Shriekers, the team can further progress into the Crypts and approach the Sunless Cell. Bypassing a horde of Thralls, the fireteam descends into the Dark cell.

  • Eris Morn: He's here. He hunts you.

Bok Surha, Legacy of Oryx enters the arena and his health appears at the bottom of the screen. Unlike other Darkblades and more like his progenitor, he lacks a glowing eye, using the darkness of the Sunless Cell to stalk the fireteam. In addition to standard Thrall and Cursed Thrall stalking the team, Taken Thrall will also show up to harass and distract the team as the boss approaches. Upon losing a certain amount of health, Bok Surha will enter his enraged state and attempt to run the team down in addition to using the thrall and teleportation to throw off his adversaries. Persevering through the horde and power of the Darkblade, the team dispatches him and silences the Cell.

  • Eris Morn: And thus ends Oryx's Legacy. Burning in a dark cell to be forgotten, forsaken, by his own gods.
  • Queen Mara Sov: Good riddance, then. Had he left these cells and joined Xivu Arath's ranks, he could have brought unspeakable ruin on her behalf. Or even on the Witness's.
  • Eris Morn: Indeed. When we find a way to pursue the Witness into the Traveler, we can rest easy, knowing that this monster won't be there to serve it's dark intents.
  • Queen Mara Sov: Yes, and together, we will see it laid low, along with Xivu Arath. Until then, Guardians.
