"Built to the same spec as Cabal hull plating, this tactical shield is nearly indestructible to conventional weapons. It has integrated sensors that relay information not only to the shield bearer but also the Cabal battle network, allowing nearby units to coordinate more effectively."

The Cabal Shield is used by Cabal Phalanxes of the to form the walls on the battlefront.

Overview

These shields are fully immune to conventional weapons, and can even withstand a Golden Gun shot, making the Phalanx only stagger. In addition, they can also be used as a melee weapon with two different attacks. The first attack is a simple swing for close-range. The second attack is a devastating lunge that can kill Guardians in one hit as well as send enemies flying. These defensive shields are connected to the Cabal Battle Network, allowing Phalanx units to coordinate, and may also record enemy weaponry strength upon impact.

Taken Phalanxes use their reshaped shields to also launch Arc blasts that can blow their target away for great distances.

These shields fell into disuse after the arrival of the Red Legion, who employs the Energy Shield instead.

Trivia

• Two shields can be found inside the Tower alongside a collection of other Cabal and Fallen weaponry.
• While the shield is fully replaced in use with the energy variant in Destiny 2, it occasionally appears as a world prop in an Easter egg capacity, in addition to most Taken Phalanx shields continuing to be based on this shield for narrative reasons.
