"Some beings wait for their death to arrive, while others run from it. But running isn't as easy when you're chained down."
Cane

Bah’nok, Devil of Oryx was a Hive Knight of the Blood of Oryx known for participating in the king’s invasion of Riis. A loyal servant to Oryx, Bah'nok would be cast out to further civilizations to kill their strongest warriors as a warning of Oryx's coming. Following the death of Oryx at the hands of the Guardian, Bah'nok would leave the Dreadnaught in an attempt to seek revenge for his king.

After the death of Rhulk, the Witness would Take Bah'nok to use him as a puppet to assassinate the former warlord Cane. This assassination attempt would fail, with Cane trapping Bah'nok within The Pit of the Chernobyl Quarantine Zone.

Experimentation

Following Bah'nok's imprisonment, Cane would request a few of his agents to prepare for the use of his newest machination; the Paracausal Manipulator. Once the machine was activated, Cane used the manipulator to search deep inside of Bah'nok's warped mind in search of any trace of the Witness. Cane began to use the manipulator to siphon power from the Witness, attempting to weaken it in the process. The Witness would retaliate by linking Bah'nok to the core of the Manipulator, giving him a control over untamed paracausal energy.

Days after the last contact with Bah'nok, a handful of Cane's Psions would use the Manipulator once more to investigate reported tears in the Ascendant Plane. One Psion would enter the Ascendant Plane to investigate further, while the others stayed behind and examine Bah'nok's mind. TBA

The Nightmare

While Bah'nok had lost his will to the Witness, he still maintained some of his consciousness, though heavily warped and refracted. During his incarceration, Bah'nok began to fear imperfection; the thought of a flawed being made the Paracausal Manipulator distort the space between throne worlds. The knight thought of his former self, discordant and defective, resentment and spite engulfed those memories. In that fear and hatred of his past self, the Manipulator synced with the Lunar Pyramid, subsequently creating the Nightmare of the Requite. The nightmare would act as a constant reminder of Bah'nok's continuously flawed existence, unfit for the Witness's plan of perfection.

Trivia

  • Bah'nok's name is a portmanteau of two words from the Dragon Language of Bethesda's Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, specifically the words "bah" (wrath)[1] and "nok" (laid to rest)[2].
