Vanquishers were a sub-unit of regular Hive Knights that were armed with a Cleaver and a Hive Shield. They were able to be seen in several areas of the Hellas Basin and certain missions of the Warmind campaign.

Gameplay

Vanquishers functioned like the Cabal Phalanx unit, except they were restricted to melee combat with their Cleavers and their shields could not expand. However, their shields granted them significant damage resistance and immunity to staggering, allowing them to keep pressing the attack and rush down all Guardians in their path. Their Cleavers were capable of killing Guardians in only a few swipes, forcing their opponents to keep their distance, and they typically fought alongside other Vanquishers to maximize their assault. The quickest way to dispose of a charging Vanquisher was to destroy their shield, fully opening them to incoming damage or to attack them in one of their exposed legs, stunning them.

• When a Vanquisher's shield was receiving damage, green cracks can be seen, signifying how close it was to shattering.
