Crotheon, Gate Keeper was a Vex Minotaur seen as the boss of the Vex Offensive activity, where it was summoned by the Vex to repair the Gate Network the Guardian infiltrators disrupted. However during the final month of the season Crotheon was replaced by The Undying Mind.

Gameplay

When summoned, Crotheon was initially coated in Temporal Shielding as it navigated itself to the nearest Vex Gate Module in the attempts to repair it. Once it made it to this position, it summoned Gate Technicians who would drop the craniums necessary to remove the shields of Crotheon, allowing for a damage phase. Upon the barrier's destruction, players would have 30 seconds to unload everything they have into the Minotaur before it regained its Temporal Shielding from repairing the Gate Network and moves onto the next module.

Trivia

• Judging by it's purpose and summoning, it's possible Crotheon's rank was similar to Gate Lords.
  • In fact, the manner in which Crotheon appeared is very similar to how Zydron, Gate Lord appeared.
• The name Crotheon appears to be a combination of the names Crota, a Prince of the Hive, and Atheon, an Axis Mind of the Vex.
