Injection Rigs are Cabal infiltration devices deployed in Public Events to gain information by spying and espionage.

Overview

Injection Rigs appear in certain areas where the Injection Rig Public Event appears where the tool is sent down from a Cabal Warship who stays to oversee its success. Once the Rig lands, a Infiltrator Psion will teleport down with a crew of Red Legion Cabal to guard them and the rig.

Gameplay

During the event the Injection Rig itself won't actively participate in the event until each of the Infiltrator Psion is killed, in which it will generate an indestructible barrier then reveal and activate its propulsion systems, causing anyone or anything inside the barrier to begin to burn to death, however due to the dense Cabal armor, this rarely affects them while devastating any Guardian or Fallen caught inside who doesn't have an overshield or source of healing like a healing rift.

However this leaves the Injection rig vulnerable as in order to prevent overheating, it exposes its vents while scorching, allowing enemies to destroy the vents. If all three pairs of vents are destroyed, the heroic event activates and the Infiltrator Valus with see to it personally that the Injection Rig finishes its job and it repaired. However killing this Valus forces the Legion and the Warship to flee, however if the vents were destroyed, the Rig malfunctions on its way back to the Warship, causing it to explode and causing the Red Legion to gain nothing from this event.
