Yaris was a human who volunteered to be tested with a SIVA prototype, Fortitude 3.1, to support his family as volunteers were given an allowance, and he had another child on the way. Shortly after injection, the volume of his voice dropped to a whisper, an unexpected side effect. Eventually he became totally mute, and would communicate to the doctors by typing his needs, but refrained from sharing his personal thoughts. He began to eat less, and loose weight and hair. Eventually he entered a coma, along with the other patients. Doctor Zarin Shirazi and her team worked tirelessly and developed a cure, saving Yaris and the other patients.
