Axis Minds and Grimoire

The reason Atheon is not classed as an Axis Mind is that “Axis Mind” is a Vanguard term, as indicated in the Prohibitive Mind Grimoire card. Obviously the Vanguard knew next to nothing about the Vex and thought Osiris crazy for studying them. Atheon is an entirely different class of Vex unit, above the other “Axis Minds”.

For classification purposes, he’s under the “Vex Axis Minds” Grimoire section for the same reason that Taniks, the Scarred is under “Fallen Leadership” even though he is a mercenary and Houseless. It’s because that’s how they’re organized.
