"Good news. The fifty-two moons of Fundament host a starfaring civilization far more sophisticated than anything you've encountered so far. Taox's ship fled towards the large ice moon, where a species of bony six-armed cephalopods keeps their icy capital. Savathûn's named them the Ammonite."
— The Worms

The Hive-Ammonite war was a major conflict between the Hive led by Auryx, the King of the Hive, Savathûn, the Witch Queen, and Xivu Arath, God of War, and the Ammonites. The conflict began when the Ammonites gave asylum to Taox. Auryx was originally willing to negiotiate with the Ammonites, however Savathûn, under the pressure of the Worm Gods killed Auryx. However instead of dying, Auryx's soul passed to his Ascendant Realm, when he returned the Hive would begin their assault against the Ammonites.
