Splinters are information compounds created by the Vex to store data in large quantities for further use. Most splinters hold data on general knowledge, but certain splinters have info based on their region. According to Aunor Mahal, there are 12 known active Splinters; however, a study conducted by Lisbon-13 states that there are at least 496 undiscovered Splinters within the Solar System.
HistoryEdit
According to the Drifter, splinters are relatively new to the Vex, but have existed in larger amounts since the dark age. The oldest known splinter, Origin Splinter, was first discovered on Venus near the Vault of Glass following the death of Kabr. Built by a group of Descendants, knowledge recovered from the splinter revealed it to have housed data on the Taken and the arrival of Oryx.
