- What puzzles me is that Sony got this exclusivity as a result of distribution and marketing negotiations with Activision. Microsoft could have easily received similar concessions had they chosen to negotiate as Sony had, which they did not. And yet, according to the forums, Bungie is out to screw over XBox owners everywhere... I'm shocked at how many people out there seem to think that either Bungie or Activision would deliberately limit their potential income by alienating half of their player base... Negotiations are after all a 2-way street &, in this case, Microsoft simply didn't push for all of the things that Sony did. I would have thought that was obvious but, apparently, I'm a hopeless optimist...But that's just my .02 Glimmer... - DJenser 10:02, 18 November 2013 (EST)

- Thanks for saying that. Sometimes it's hard to get a clear picture of the general opinion on Forums because it's usually teenagers & trolls that post. In this case, however, a large number of XBox owners have chimed in to say that their jimmies have not been rustled by this news, which is quite refreshing...But that's just my .02 Glimmer... - DJenser 08:41, 20 November 2013 (EST)
- I think it's kinda cool that Sony fans get perks. It's definitely a good marketing strategy to get Sony fans on board the Bungie train. They already have Xbox in the bag, and Bungie's goal IS world domination. Now we just need those Nintendo guys...Ace2891 (talk) 13:52, 20 November 2013 (EST)
- Yeah, what most people don't realize is that, for the last 10 years, the vast majority of Bungie customers have been XBox owners, thanks to Halo. They needed to break into the Playstation market in a big way, so adding several exclusivity clauses into their distribution contract with Sony was essential to tapping that player base. Although, to be honest, if Microsoft had really wanted to get a similar deal, they could have negotiated for it. It's not like they don't have the money; they simply chose not to do so. I predict that, if this game takes off like everyone expects it to, then Microsoft will make a push for more perks for the next title release in 2016...But that's just my .02 Glimmer... - DJenser 08:53, 21 November 2013 (EST)
