Forums: Index General Discussion Oh hey, another article. Destiny-FrontierGhostShell.png

So, I was browsing Bungie and in one forum a guy linked to this article: Eurogamer.net: Bungie unveils it's shared-world shooter. So, I figured I would put it up here, see if you guys could glean any nuggets of information from it. Always use the DMR. This is craZboy557, signing off. 17:42, 8 March 2013 (EST) Okay, skimming through it, LOTS of stuff. "dead orbit foundries", "overwatch distric", "guardians live in one of the towers in the wall that surround the city", "vanguard plate", and on and on. Looks like we've got some editing to do :) Always use the DMR. Always use the DMR. This is craZboy557, signing off. 17:44, 8 March 2013 (EST)

Nice find! I've seen mentions of an Overwatch District before, but the other stuff looks new. Very nice find. I'll read through it now. :D --TentacleTornado 17:51, 8 March 2013 (EST)

I should note that the guy who mention the article was this guy: Downserj. Always use the DMR. This is craZboy557, signing off. 18:15, 8 March 2013 (EST)

Ah, good on him then as well! :D
"Ocean of Storms", eh? Worthy of an article, perhaps? There's also these "Sandeaters", which I've heard of before, being a type/class of Cabal. I'm just not sure whether some of these are large enough to warrant an article just yet. Should we? --TentacleTornado 18:20, 8 March 2013 (EST)
Let's give it a day or two. Let everyone else get on, give there two cents. One thing I noticed was "pulse rifle" wasn't capitalized, so it probably isn't a unique weapon. Then there's Vanguard plate, which catches my eye as Vanguard has mostly been wrapped in enigma up to this point. As for my thoughts on Sand Eaters, I'd say it's worth an article. Jesus... dust walker, legionare, centurion, there's just so much information. Always use the DMR. This is craZboy557, signing off. 18:26, 8 March 2013 (EST)

Ooh, just noticed some stuff on the left of the page if you scroll down. Looks like we get to see Europa! (BTW just wikipedia'd it and when they said sixth closest moon, that was being used to describe europa) Always use the DMR. This is craZboy557, signing off. 18:35, 8 March 2013 (EST)

[EDIT CONFLICT:]Okay. Yeah, "Vanguard" has popped up more than once, I'm still not sure what to think of it. I would take it that "pulse rifle" may be a speculative name, as it isn't capitalised, and is a pretty generic name anyway. Pfft, there's quite a lot of info here. :D --TentacleTornado 18:39, 8 March 2013 (EST)
Wow. I love the idea of going to the moons of Jupiter. I wonder why we never noticed this article before? :D EDIT: More mention of your Space Zombies here. :D--TentacleTornado 18:39, 8 March 2013 (EST)
Jesus, why am I still on the fence about making that article? Always use the DMR. This is craZboy557, signing off. 18:46, 8 March 2013 (EST)
I think it's the amount of conjecture. We simply only know they're Zombies, in Space. xD I was the same with the Valyanop/Muloqt/Kaelarot pages on Halopedia. :P --TentacleTornado 18:51, 8 March 2013 (EST)
I think for me it's the lack of official name. Always use the DMR. This is craZboy557, signing off. 19:07, 8 March 2013 (EST)

Another one. Doesn't look like much, but sounds like we've got new information incoming. It's about bungie trademarking some stuff, and there's some terms we haven't heard yet in there. Could be useful. Here's the link: http://www.gamespot.com/news/bungie-seeking-to-trademark-glimmer-hive-6405388. Always use the DMR. This is craZboy557, signing off. 20:37, 16 March 2013 (EDT)

According to this poster, we have incoming information. When this comes out, try to get a copy of it. Sounds like it'll be useful. Always use the DMR. This is craZboy557, signing off. 10:34, 19 March 2013 (EDT)

Game Informer is nice, subscribers can get a digital version. I guess we should get to subscribing! Is Game Informer printed in the UK, by the way? Anyway, I can't see it releasing any really new information, new concept art perhaps? :D --TentacleTornado 17:33, 19 March 2013 (EDT)
I wouldn't know, but at least one of us should check it out. I know you can buy them at gamestops, but I'm pretty sure they don't have those over there, so if you want to see it you'd have to use the online version. The guy who posted on Bnet that GI was doing this said that they had new information, (at least I think that's what he said) so we'd be foolish not to at least check it out. Always use the DMR. This is craZboy557, signing off. 19:22, 19 March 2013 (EDT)

A guy on the forum I made on bungie posted this article: [1]. Not a whole lot of information, but I'm pretty sure they mentioned something about customizability.Always use the DMR. This is craZboy557, signing off. 13:30, 23 March 2013 (EDT)

Another poster on Bnet put up an article. Starts out wrapping up GDC, then moves in to an interview with some guys from bungie. Got some good stuff in it. Didn't read ll of it yet, so there could be even more. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-04-03-destiny-character-classes-races-and-teamtigerman The poster was AnCatMara. Always use the DMR. Oooooooook, so I'm reading through this some more, and I'm just gonna say, before you go to edit Fallen or Exo or Vex or Awoken, just talk about it here first. We don't know for sure that they were talking about whatever you thought they were talking about. Always use the DMR. This is craZboy557, signing off. 18:34, 4 April 2013 (EDT)

http://www.forbes.com/sites/insertcoin/2013/02/19/no-you-wont-see-bungies-destiny-in-2013/ You bastards aren't even reading this, are you. Always use the DMR. This is craZboy557, signing off. 12:52, 12 April 2013 (EDT)

Well, let's keep in mind that the article was written in February... - DJenser (talk) 15:14, 12 April 2013 (EDT)

Not the article, I felt like I was the only guy on this thread, a thread I feel should be being updated by more than just me. Also, new mail sack. Always use the DMR. This is craZboy557, signing off. 17:33, 12 April 2013 (EDT)

SHIT YES! BIG UDATE ON THE BNET! OH HELL FUCKING YES, THOSE PICS AREN'T PART OF THE BACKGROUND! I CAN JUST CLICK AND DRAG AND DOWNLOAD THEM! Always use the DMR. This is craZboy557, signing off. 20:40, 9 May 2013 (EDT) TO THE USERBOXES! TO THE FILES!!! TO THE PAGES!!!!! XDDDDD

Ur Didact got the pics, the lucky bastard. And apparently this has been out since yesterday. Derp. Nevertheless, we need pages for the new fallen. Go to Ur's recent changes for the files, put them on the new pages and anywhere he missed. Could we use pages for both the render pics and the ones I dowloaded from the sections they were in? They don't have backgrounds, can we use that? Either way I'm also going to upload versions with the Guardians and the Flags next to eachother, for the userboxes. Wait a sec... damnit Ur, you shoulda posted a link here to the new game informer article. He uploaded a few pics from it.... goddamnit, I really am the only one who uses this, aren't I. Always use the DMR. This is craZboy557, signing off. 20:57, 9 May 2013 (EDT)

Signing off for the night. As I get ready to leave, I realise I've left a question unpondered.... what the hell is Vanguard. Always use the DMR. This is craZboy557, signing off. 22:18, 9 May 2013 (EDT)

Woot, Gameplay demo! I'll ge to work on the pics, so if you can, leave those to me. Also, someone needs to rename or redirect the Spider Tank to Devil Walker. I actually heard it as Death Walker, though I may have misheard. This is craZboy557, signing off. 17:39, 11 June 2013 (EDT)

Ok, I just spent like my entire afternoon screenshotting, cropping, and naming pics, and I'm finally uploading them. If you want any pics from the video just go find it on the recent changes page. This is craZboy557, signing off. 20:10, 11 June 2013 (EDT)

Ok, now they're all uploaded. You should be able to find them pretty quickly in the recent changes at the time of writing, but once they become buried you can find them all by searching "File:Destiny E3 2013 Demo,". If you need a pic from the video look through those before you try to add anything. Of course, if I missed what you're looking for go ahead and add it. Also, there may be a few that I forgot to crop. I tried to fix any of those I came across, but one very well may have slipped through the cracks. So, if you see one of those, if you could do a quick crop that'd be great.

Also, quick note, this whole thing took me at least five hours, my entire evening, and a tiny bit of my morning. You are goddamn welcome. This is craZboy557, signing off. 07:19, 12 June 2013 (EDT)

Saw this posted on the BE website. A little bit of useful information in it. Not a whole lot, but some good tidbits. A good watch at the very least.

Keep on your toes, it seems they'll be doing that same playthrough some more times, and we might learn more from each one. Not certain though..... still, try and see if you can find some different playthroughs. Found a good interview though. Some good tidbits there. Also, seriously, do some lurking on the Bnet. People are always posting new information on there. That's where I found the interview. This is craZboy557, signing off. 19:14, 12 June 2013 (EDT)

Quality is bad because it's a handheld camera, but whatever. Possibly some more planets confirmed, and you get an alt gameplay trailer. This is craZboy557, signing off. 13:01, 13 June 2013 (EDT)

There are a couple great shots of the Sparrow in this vid, but the quality is so awful that I couldn't cap any that were worth a damn. Once the video gets posted directly to YT, as opposed to a "video of a video", we should have some nice side-views added to the page....But that's just my .02 Glimmer... - DJenser 10:06, 18 June 2013 (EDT)
Bungie posted some of it in better quality during one of their E3 vids, but it doesn't show anything other than the planets. I can still post the vid if you like. This is craZboy557, signing off. 10:33, 18 June 2013 (EDT)

Some interesting new speculation about alpha lupi, I'd definitely suggest reading it. Always use the DMR. This is craZboy557, signing off. 13:52, 18 July 2013 (EDT)

Found another interview here. Not all that much in new info, but they did at least confirm my observation that your Ghost acts as a marker beacon when you die. Oh also, nearly every piece of gear you own in Destiny can be personalized, tweaked or upgraded in some way. In fact, they will all have skill trees, not just your weapons. Guess what else is upgradable? SPACE MAGIC!!!...But that's just my .02 Glimmer... - DJenser 14:52, 25 July 2013 (EDT)

Alright.... I'm not sure what our policy is on this sort of thing, but I found some scans of the GameInformer article on Destiny. [REDACTED]

That's what I figured. So how are we gonna cite this stuff? Always use the DMR. This is craZboy557, signing off. 13:00, 7 December 2013 (EST)
I received my Gameinformer in the mail today and have begun making edits and using it to cite the edits. In my excitement, I've made a few redundant pages and I need them removed/combined with existing articles. Help please? Ace2891 (talk) 16:20, 7 December 2013 (EST)

So, I'd say we could probably figure out which pictures that we have match to which enemy type, right? Always use the DMR. This is craZboy557, signing off. 18:02, 7 December 2013 (EST)

I think so. Also, I can't move the page; it's not letting me. Should I just move the content manually and delete the redundant article? Ace2891 (talk) 18:07, 7 December 2013 (EST)
You couldn't set up a redirect? Always use the DMR. This is craZboy557, signing off. 18:10, 7 December 2013 (EST)
I created a page called Thrall. I later found out there was a page called Hive Thrall. It won't let me move Thrall to Hive Thrall because it already exists. I'm trying to correct this for all the other Thrall entries I've created. It seems I'll only have a problem with Thrall and Knight since they already had an article. Ace2891 (talk) 18:13, 7 December 2013 (EST)
I think we should actually set up the redirects from those pages to yours, as opposed to vice versa. Already did it for Thrall. Always use the DMR. This is craZboy557, signing off. 18:32, 7 December 2013 (EST)
Does this mean I have to undo my edits to the Hive page and undo all my other redirects? Ace2891 (talk) 18:35, 7 December 2013 (EST)
*cough*Say what?

Just tell me what I need to do. I'm still editing and creating new articles (currently working on the Focus article) and I want to finish it all before I go to bed in...7 hours. Ace2891 (talk) 19:44, 7 December 2013 (EST)
Alright, so go to the page that you want to get rid of, and type in *carefully makes sure nowiki is set up right*... type in #REDIRECT (page you want to replace this page with here) at the top of the page. It'll make it so that whenever anyone goes to that page it'll send them to the page you've set it to redirect to. Then, we just clean up around the wiki so that nothing links to the old pages. Later, porple or whoever can delete those pages as well. If I explained that poorly, just go to Spider Tank, then once you get redirected to Devil Walker, click on the link right above the article to go back to Spider Tank, and use edit to look at the code for redirecting. Always use the DMR. This is craZboy557, signing off. 19:52, 7 December 2013 (EST)
I think I just created an infinite redirecting loop. I put the #REDIRECT in Hive Trooper so that it leads to Trooper. BUT, Since I moved Trooper to Hive Trooper, it just takes me back there again. We need porple to delete one of them, don't we? BTW, I didn't save the edit, I used preview so there actually isn't an infinite loop. Ace2891 (talk | contribs)
