4 Vesta is the second largest asteroid in the asteroid belt.[citation needed]
History
The Awoken have incorporated Vesta into the Vestian Web, the heart of Awoken civilization in the Reef and from where Queen Mara Sov rules her domain. Just outside the Vestian Web lies the Vestian Outpost, a space station built from a Fallen Ketch and the asteroid 5560 Amytis, where outsiders are permitted to enter the Awoken realm.
During the Guardian's quest to find and destroy the Black Heart, they travel to the Reef and are escorted to the Queen's throne room in the Vestian Web, where are told to retrieve the eye of a Vex Gate Lord. When the Guardian returns, successful, Prince Uldren informs them that the eye is too damaged to use; however, the Queen lets them keep the eye as a gift and token of condolence for the Traveler.[citation needed]

- Vesta is the brightest asteroid visible from Earth. Its maximum distance from the Sun is slightly greater than the minimum distance of Ceres from the Sun, though its orbit lies entirely within that of Ceres.[1]
