The First Vex-Fear War was a battle between the House of Fear and the Precursors as well as the Sol Infiltrative. It was started when the nomadic House of Fear arrived on an unnamed Machine World. The war was the cause of the delayed entry of the House of Fear to Sol. Detecting something on the planet below, a few skiffs were sent down to investigate and when they didn't report back, even more troops were sent. There they discovered the Vex, a race of robotic machines. There, the House of Fear started a war against the Vex. Though the house was injured from the death of their Kell, they managed to gain the upper hand in the war. During the war, the Vex Precursors panicked and sent a messenger through the Vex Network to ask for help. The messenger reached the ancient future and the Descendants deployed an elite task force known as Sol Infiltrative to eliminate the threat. The Fallen began to lose the war after that, but attacked a Vex Cylcops battery and managed to destroy the Vex's system preventing their Ketch from getting into the Planet. Once Fearship Coriks-Fel arrived, the war's tide changed again and the Fallen began to win. They had deployed Walkers to defend camps and built up bases. The war went on for a few more years until a new change began. Sol Infiltrative, growing tired of the constant battle, had a superweapon transferred into the planet known as the Vex Heart. The heart was placed atop a citadel and the Vex rained down fire from the circle of Cyclops on the top of it. They used the Vex Heart to destroy one of the House of Fear's many ketches, leading to the death of hundreds. This did not deter the House of Fear, however, and in retaliation they eliminated the current leader of the Precursors on the planet. With the death of Navia, Ancient Mind, the Sol Infitraive deployed a final countermeasure: The Hunting Mind. The war lasted another year with many losses for the Fallen as the Hunting Mind was the tactician. Eventually, they planned a raid on a Fallen Skiff landing pad. The Hunting Mind itself, alongside dozens of other Vex Minds, assaulted the Airbase and breached the outer guard. Four skiffs arrived, two carrying Walkers and the others carrying some of the most elite fighters in the House of Fear. The Splicers and Captains fought for the next week against an onslaught. Periks, Fear Baron lead a squad through underground tunnels constructed by the Vex and discovered an exit point behind the raid. So Periks spent another week forming an assault plan and making the tunnels a new outpost. Finally, after the Vex began to breach the inner walls, Periks and her men attacked. As the Vex destroyed the skiffs, Periks tore through the Vex. When the dust settled, both sides lost so much. The Hunting Mind was the only Vex Mind that survived, returning to the Vex Heart after fighting for the weeks. The Fallen lost almost all of the soldiers they deployed to the air base, and only one single skiff remained out of the dozens stationed there. This battle was named The Midnight Raid, and would be remembered by both sides. The next big attack was on a Vex portal hub. Reniks was furious so she summoned her Barons and devised a plan to destroy the portal hub. Using their new tunnel bases, the Fallen would infiltrate the hub and use Splinter Mines to blow it up. This battle was an easy success for the Vex, however, who were well prepared. The assault only lasted an hour before Reniks called his men to retreat, possibly saving them from millions of losses. The next biggest battle in the war happened a year after the Midnight Raid, when the Hive who had entered the Solar System to destroy it encountered the House of Fear. The Hive had burrowed up in a planet hundreds of years ago so when the Vex entered the planet to create a safe haven for the Heart away from the heart they were attacked by the Hive. The Vex's activity attracted the eye of Dexal, Fear Baron who had encountered the Hive before and was obsessed with them. But he had no idea of the Hive on the planet, he was just in his Ketch in orbit at the time. Suspicious of the activity, he sent four skiffs down to the planet. Discovering the Hive, he immediately brought his ship into the atmosphere of the planet and had a base constructed to dock it. A few months later, he docked his Ketch and immediately began sending teams down to experiment with the caverns. Most teams were killed by Hive so Dexal left them alone for a week as he investigated the Vex. He used his skills as a tactician to predict when the Vex were going to attack the Hive and waited for when they did. Once he saw the attack begin, he rained down fire on both of them and, believing he had killed most of them, went himself to the battle ground. As he and a small crew scavenged the corpses, a second wave of Vex and Hive arrived, leading to Dexal's death in the following chaos. Hearing of the death of their commander, they remembered his orders in case he died. Send in all of the Ketch's skiffs to the battle he died on and kill everything. So a few kamikaze skiffs later, and the battle was over. Again, no one really won this battle. The Vex left the planet and retreated to the Vex Citadel on the Machine World. Reniks(who was pissed as hell hearing of Dexal's wasteful death) was extremely suspicious of the Vex's defensive movements around the top of the citadel in particular so he had a plan. He called back in Dexal's ketch and had a young commander named Mirks promoted to a Baron. He then had Mirks TBC.
