Cornerstones of the Witness are a group of enemies summoned by The Witness to stop a twelve Guardian fireteam from reaching and destroying it.
Gameplay[edit]
During the initial section of Excision, three Cornerstones will spawn on the first 3 plates that need to be captured: those being the Minotaur, Centurion, and Taken Captain Cornerstones. Players must defeat these Cornerstones to unlock the plate to capture it. Once all three have been killed and all three plates have been captured, a Tormentor Cornerstone will spawn on the last plate. This Tormentor plays like any other Tormentor, and once defeated and the plate has been captured, players will be able to proceed towards the boss room.
During the boss fight with the Witness, two Cornerstones will spawn on either side of the room, either a Tormentor, Harbinger or Omen selected for each Cornerstone. Both Cornerstones will need to be defeated to open fissures of the Traveler's Light and collect the light from there to empower the rift at the back of the room. Depending on how many phases it takes to get the Witness to its last stand, this process will need to be repeated every time the damage phase ends.
Trivia[edit]
- The model used for the Sol Divisive Cornerstone is similar to the one used for Atheon, Time's Conflux, albeit colored black and red.
