The Skorn are a rogue faction of Fallen terrorists led by Uldren Sov and Fikrul, the Fanatic. They recently orchestrated a massive breakout from the Prison of Elders and murdered Cayde-6 in the process. While they were originally Fallen, they have been changed into something else by repeated deaths and resurrections.[1][2] They are former members of the House of Exile who were cast out of the House at some point prior to the Red War.
Overview
The Skorn are a horde of warped, mutated Fallen, changed by repeated deaths and resurrections through unknown means. They vary drastically in size and form, with Mongrels in particular nearly being the size of a Hive Ogre.[1][2]
Appearance
The Skorn can be distinguished by their dark gunmetal colored, chain-adorned armor, and drastic physical differences from other Fallen. Many of them are unnaturally large in stature, wielding an array of weapons stolen from other factions, often seeming to favor the use of fire-based weaponry.[1]
Structure
The Skorn are not affiliated with any House. They are led overall by Uldren Sov and help pursue his goals. Beneath Uldren are seven unique Barons, led by their Archon, Fikrul, the Fanatic, each with their own skills and specialties. Some Skorn pirates make use of non-Fallen technologies, and many of them have docked lower arms as a remnant of their previous status as Dregs.[2]
History
Terror of the Reef
Cast out of the House of Exile, many Dregs grouped together and thrived through mutual ruthlessness and ingenuity. Raiding Fallen settlements and stealing Ether, the Barons grew stronger and bolder. Capitalising on the lack of leadership in the post-Taken War Reef, the Skorn terrorized both Fallen and Awoken settlements, degrading the once prosperous civilization into a lawless frontier.
Sometime after the Red War, Hunter Vanguard Cayde-6 gathered a small group of his most trusted Guardians and, with the assistance of acting-Regent-Commander Petra Venj, hunted down the Skorn Barons. At a final standoff, the Barons were defeated and those not killed were thrown deep within the Prison of Elders. Only one at the scene, their Archon, Fikrul, the Fanatic, managed to escape.[3]
Prison Break
A year after the Red War, the Skorn took advantage of the Reef's disheveled state and broke out en-masse from the Prison of Elders. During the breakout, the Skorn Barons and Uldren Sov killed Cayde-6. After the escape, they fled into the Tangled Shore and Dreaming City, behind the leadership of Prince Uldren and their seven commanding Barons and Archon. [1]
After their release, they entered into a civil war with the House of Dusk. They have also invaded the Spider's territory in the Tangled Shore, and he has enlisted Guardians to assist his men in clearing them out.

- Screeb—a horrific breed of Skorn Fallen corrupted by Dark Ether, that crawl on all fours and explode in a burst of energy with greater range than a Cursed Thrall's explosion.
- Stalker—a class of Dregs that have been mysteriously reanimated.
- Ravager—cauldron-wielding members of the Skorn who actively charge their opponents.
- Wraith—ferocious Skorn bandits who charge into battle with dual Flame Torches.
- Raider—Skorn bandits that can fire saws construed of Void energy from their Sawblade Launchers and teleport across the battlefield. They also use Void snipers.
- Lurker—a new class of Skorn Fallen pirates, who wield Fallen Shields and Shrapnel Launchers in battle.
- Mongrel—Terrifying large, monstrous Ogre-like Skorn creatures that have the ability to fire electricity from their hands.
- Chieftain—commanders of Skorn crews akin to Captains. They have the ability to place down multi-element totems that can act as lethal weapons or shields for enemy Skorn combatants.
- Scorn Walker—modified Walkers that are employed by the Skorn.
Trivia
- The Skorn are technically not an established Fallen House but are considered as such due to their Baron leadership.
- They are the second enemy faction in-game to be lead by an antagonist of a different species, the first being the Grasp of Nokris and their Worm God Xol.
- The Skorn are the first faction of Fallen seen in the Ascendant realm, and the first to ally themselves with Hive combatants.
- The Game Informer Forsaken issue reveals that the Skorn do not take cover, and have the most aggressive AI in the Destiny series.
