- "An Archon serves no purpose without its House. But the armour still has a purpose for protecting a Lord."
- — Scuttleks, the Archon Descent
Scuttleks, the Archon Descent is a Fallen Captain and leader of a gang of Pirates. He and his crew were tasked by Eramis, the Shipstealer to hunt for the Relics of Nezarec on behalf of the Witness. He is encountered in the mission Pirate Hideout: The Archon Descent.
Following his death and the events of The Final Shape, Scuttleks would be resurrected into a Scorn monstrosity that leads a Scorn force in the Congressional Offensive activity.
Biography
Originally a Rising Archon for a House lost to the Whirlwind, Scuttleks would be taught the ways of the Great Machine. However, during the Long Drift, the loss of their Kell, Prime Servitor and Archon Priest led Scuttleks to cast off the traditions of the Houses and take the remnants of his House to form his crew. Scuttleks would become a renowned Ketchkiller, pillaging supply routes and wresting control of the Ketches of other houses.
In particular, he gained a ruthless reputation for docking the arms of his crew members for the petiest of reasons, ranging from failing in battle to taking more than their share of treasure or Ether. After failing to secure a treasure cache on Nessus, Scuttleks would have one of the surviving Vandals brought before him to dock his arms as punishment. Despite the Vandal's claims that it was Missraks and his crew that stole the cache rather than them, Scuttleks would still dock the Vandal for failing to stop the cache for being stolen before motioning for another crew member to be brought before him.
Before he could deliver a Relic of Nezarec to Eramis, Scuttleks' hideout in the Themis Cluster would be raided by the Guardian, who cut through his crew and ultimately slew the Pirate Lord to claim the Relic.
Scorned Helmsman
- "Arise! Achron Descent, Babtised in Failure, Docked in Mutiny. Arise and be reborn greater than the old flesh."
- — Troksrii
At some point after the Witness' death, Scuttleks' body would be found by Scorn under the command of Troksrii, the Technomancer and brought to their master's hideout. They found Scuttleks was missing his lower arms, likely due to the surviving Dregs and Wretches of his crew cutting them off in an act of retribution for his treatment of them. The resurrected Captain would be experimented with the powers of Stasis and would later lead a force of the Congression's Scorn to capture information stored in the Essence Pyramid, only to be cut down by the Guardian again.
