Dread Devourers are a variant of the Overload Chieftain that appears on the Derelict Leviathan.

Gameplay

The Dread Devourers possess all the abilities of normal Overload Chieftains, including their regeneration, multiple totems, and vulnerability to disruption. They appear as part of the Nightmare Containment Public Event. Once a Guardian deposits a Core of Dread, a Dread Devourer will appear near the Harvester, alongside three Lurkers. It will slowly walk towards the staff, and if it gets in contact with it, it will begin devouring the Shards of Dread accumulated up to that point, five at a time. Therefore, it is essential that Devourers are killed as soon as they spawn, lest they nullify all of the player's progression.
