Nightmare of Skolas, Kell of Kells
From Destinypedia, the Destiny wiki
- "We are all consumed by that which eats away at us. For Skolas, it was his own hubris. He pursued complete control over all Houses of the Fallen, and through his misguided conquest, many perished. Skolas's memory serves as a permanent reminder of all the lives lost at the whim of a single Kell. No matter how hard the Pyramid may try, we will not cower."
- — Eris Morn
The Nightmare of Skolas, Kell of Kells is the Nightmare of the leader of the House of Wolves and self-proclaimed Kell of Kells: Skolas. Recreated with the power of the Darkness by the Lunar Pyramid, it represents the Essence of Pride.
Overview
The Nightmare of Skolas, Kell of Kells is encountered as the final boss in the Nightmare Hunt: Pride, serving as the herald of the Essence of Pride, faced within the engine room of the Traitor's Ketch, summoned once the Guardian gets close to its essence. The Nightmare will call upon Fallen for backup, as well as two Nightmares in the form of Fallen to defend it. The Nightmare carries a Scorch Cannon for ranged combat, blasting Solar rockets which can stick for a second and detonates. It will also utilizes its teleportation ability to evade gunfire and the Ultra Smash attack whenever a player gets too close. However whenever it loses a large amount of health, it will make itself immune to anymore attacks and summons two Nightmare Fallen, in order to make itself open to damage, the Guardian must kill off the two Nightmares to allow Skolas to be no longer immune. Once this has been done twice, the Nightmare will be fully open to damage. After it is killed, the Nightmare will drop the Pride Essence which is required to utilize to make Dreambane Armor.[1]
The Nightmare can also reappear in reruns of the Nightmare Hunt and the Altars of Sorrow, acting as a rotating final boss of the last encounter, in which it utilizes the same abilities, save it for it be able to summon Hive instead of Fallen, and when it losses a third of its health, it will summon Hive Nightmares when it enters its immunity form, requiring to kill the Hive Nightmares, or allow it to sacrifice itself, although it will speed up the timer before it ends the Event.[2]
