"Behold, my brothers, our most powerful fleet that the Black Swordsman has bestowed upon us. With this fleet, we can finally lay waste to the so-called Lightbearers and corrupt the Great Machine to serve our purpose: ushering in a new era of power."
Kotrik to his followers

Shadowship Nitrix-Fel, also known as the Ketch of Kotrik, is a massive Fallen Ship located in the Isle of the Lost and Kotrik's Keep on Earth, in the Tangled Shore and Dreaming City on the Reef, and in Aincrad. It serves as both the flagship of the Fallen House of Shadows and the personal ship of their Kell, Kotrik.

It is first seen in the Mission Call to the Past and was stationed above the ruins of Auradon Prep as the Shadowkeepers, led by the Shadow Heralds, one of them being Kazuto, the founder of said organization, launched a high-stakes invasion against Zavala, AJ, and Osiris and their comrades that led to Mallory Bertha being corrupted by the Darkness. It later reappears in the missions The Rising Shadow and Divided We Fall, where it can be seen in the distance above the Shadows' main bases.

While it is mainly accessible during the Fallen Bloodcrafter Shadow Hunt Mission, there have been numerous sightings of the ship across certain realms within Aincrad.

History

The Black Swordsman

Following the events of Lightfall, the House of Shadows deployed the Ketch when the Shadow Heralds and their Agents launched a devastating full-scale attack against Zavala and his allies and gained access to an ancient site housing the Crux of Darkness that granted them the powers of Darkness itself with the motivation of weakening the Traveler and destroying the Light so that the Fallen can rebuild their civilization with the Darkness.

The Shadowkeeper Apocalypse

Battle of Bannerfall

Gameplay

Guardians enter the Ship via a "Lift Field Distortion" as quoted by Nagihiko and you are brought to a room that overlooks the surface of Aincrad.

Trivia

  • Despite the Shadowship Nitrix-Fel being implied to be a Ketch, it has a very unique appearance that many would consider very abnormal amongst Fallen engineering.
    • This could be that the ship is either a Ketch modified by tech from the Shadowkeepers, or a ship modified to Fallen standards in order for it to be called a Ketch.
  • The ship bears a similar resemblance to the Brünhild from Legend of the Galactic Heroes.
  • Mallory described the ship as some type of fleet rumored to have been engineered by the Darkness itself.
