Mephisto is a powerful Ahamkara and one of the last surviving members of his species. He dwelled in the gaseous seas of Jupiter for many years since the Great Ahamkara Hunt in order to avoid detection and has mostly observed the events unfolding around him since then. For many years, he masqueraded in the Vanguard's ranks as a Warlock by the name of Mihaly Iglesias, through which he conducts most of his operations whenever he acts. He serves as a hidden antagonist throughout several events in Destiny 2, first making his actual appearance in The Void Within.

Biography

Great Ahamkara Hunt

It is unknown when exactly Mephisto arrived in the Sol System. However, it is theorized to be sometime during the early City Age, as he is noted to have arrived later. However, rather than meddle in the affairs of the system like other Ahamkara, Mephisto hid mainly in the shadows, taking residence in atmosphere of Jupiter. When the Great Ahamkara Hunt arrived, Mephisto remained hidden, yet took some interest in the events around him. A Fireteam was noted to have stumbled across Mephisto. However, what became of them is largely unknown.
