The Iron Banner is a Crucible event, watched over by Lord Saladin. It can be won from Saturday, July 19th at 2pm PDT, for a limited amount of time. It is the only way the Crucible maps Rusted Lands and Blind Watch can be played in the Destiny Beta.
Unlike normal Crucible matches, where gear is leveled to make an even playing field, having the best gear matters in the Iron Banner. Therefore, gear acquisition and selection is crucial before entering the event.[1]
