Talk:Dredgen Yor
From Destinypedia, the Destiny wiki
Name
Was Dredgen Yale (or Vale - I can't remember) his original name? Some interesting quotes from the new Rise of Iron Thorn quest! —This unsigned comment was made by 82.44.101.122 (talk • contribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~
- No, that is the name of one of two named "Dredgen fanboys" which revere Yor. Dante the Ghost (talk) 22:42, 16 November 2016 (EST)
- Dante is correct. Yale or Vale is not Yor's original name. Arcmind Execute long hold for reactivation. AI-COM/ACMD SIGNOFF
Placeholder Image
We have so many pages on this wiki without proper images, and yet they look empty without something there. I propose we add a placeholder image for general purposes, so that if an article that has no images is nominated as a Featured Article for good sourcing, well-constructed, or other reasons, we have an image to put on the Featured Article. --Δαντε τηε Γηοστ Ι ωονδερ ιφ Ικορα γιϝες ηυγς το Γηοστσ. Trivia misnomer
"*Dredgen Yor is the first Guardian to have ties to all three in-game Guardian classes. As Rezyl Azzir, he was a Titan; as Dredgen Yor, it is commonly accept he is a Hunter through various inferences from Hunter artifacts; and last the Thorn Ghost Fragment cards feature a Warlock wielding Thorn. Whether or not he embodied each class as Yor remains to be seen."
I really do apologise to the kind user who added this trivia with the best intentions, but I must state that this is bad and non-encyclopedic misinformation. Rezyl Azzir was a Titan, correct. There are a handful of Hunter items that reference Dredgen Yor, true. Does that mean Yor was a Hunter? Absolutely not. It's caused common misconception for sure, but it is what it is. There are other artefacts in the game that appear to cross classes too, so this is not unique and unfounded. And the Hunter Rose artefact doesn't even have anything to do with Azzir's actual handcannon Rose... it's a flower-looking thing more akin to a Shadows of Yor style tribute. The Grimoire clearly has a Warlock holding the Thorn, however take note that it is the same image used throughout the Thorn Grimoire, and in both the Thorn Grimoire and the game Destiny there has been more than one wielder of the Thorn. I would like to suggest this trivia to be re-written please. SUPER-RED-FALCON (talk) 22:49, 24 April 2017 (EDT)
- Good eye, there, Falcon. I'll make the necessary corrections as I originally penned that. Perhaps that'll end the "class warfare". I must say I didn't realize I was fueling a fannon debate. --Δαντε τηε Γηοστ Ι ωονδερ ιφ Ικορα γιϝες ηυγς το Γηοστσ. Ηεη... ανψωαψς, νιξε ωορκ. Τηις ις ωηατ Ι υσεδ. 23:07, 24 April 2017 (EDT)
